Welcome to our home and the new chapter of our adventure that is Sanger, Texas!
The journey to find a home began while walking through the treed and hilly streets of Huntington Bay, New York, during August of 2021. After looking for a property in Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin we decided the best option was to find a home in a state, and ultimately a smaller community, that wasn't living in crippling fear of a virus that 99.99% of people survive. Fox grew up in Denton County where Sanger is located and apart from driving through he had visited several years ago for a 4th of July celebration. The change of scenery from city life in Manhattan and Chicago to the rolling hills filled with ranches was exactly what we needed and goes to show that God knows what's best.
Upon moving to "The City" as local ranchers referred to our street since we live within walking distance of the square Amaris told Fox he would learn how to do so many things he didn't know. That sure has been true as we are both learning more, or in some cases starting from scratch, on replacing hardware, electrical work, painting, managing contractors, gardening, raising chickens and "the joys" of home ownership as the neighbor regularly says.
The purpose of "Suddenly Sanger" is to share the journey of building a home, lessons learned on do it yourself projects, and ways we are working to become more self sufficient.
